Kanye has already gone on the record as saying that Ma$e is his favorite rapper, and that was evident on College Dropout, where Kanye copied everything from Mr. Betha's adlibs to his lyrics verbatim.
Kanye continued that trend on later albums, as well, in somewhat of a tribute to style-blazing rapper who never got enough credit for his originality and creativity in the rap game.
Since we all know biting hasn't been a Hiphop sin since the mid-90s, no one thought anything of it.
Kanye did eventually give him some shine on the "Jesus Walks" remix, and prior to that Ma$e did secure some beats for his Harlem World group album from a then less-heralded
But Drake goes all-out Money Ma$e on one of the many highlights from his really good, recently released album, putting his own personal spin on Mas$e's now classic "Mo Money, Mo Problems" verse.
To Drake's credit, he did bring Ma$e out at his OVO fest a couple of months ago and has gone on the he'd like to sign Ma$e to a deal.
record as saying
As if that wasn't enough to raise some eyebrows, none other than Pusha T, AKA "Pusha ton of that shit to make ya nose run" jumped on that same train and did the same on his new album with Ma$e's also-classic R&B jam "What You Want".
It makes you wonder what Pusha was listening to when he was supposed to be knee deep in the coke game down in Virginia Beach.I can't really see a hardcore drug dealer bumping Ma$e in his leisure, but I digress...
These are but two rappers who have channeled their inner Ma$e on wax.
I know there are others but I haven't taken the time to research it properly.
Who am I forgetting? Let me know.
